General Surgery

At MSI, we provide a full range of general surgery services — from planned procedures for gallstone disease to complex reconstructive operations on the intestine and spleen.

What is general surgery?

General surgery is the field that covers the surgical treatment of common diseases of the abdominal organs that require planned surgical intervention.

The main advantage of modern general surgery is the wide use of laparoscopic technology, which allows operations to be performed through small incisions, reducing postoperative pain and the risk of complications and shortening recovery time.

What conditions do we treat?

We treat a wide range of common surgical conditions of the abdominal organs.

Gallbladder diseases

  • Gallbladder polyps
  • Chronic calculous cholecystitis
  • Chronic acalculous cholecystitis

  • Diverticulitis
  • Appendicitis

Small bowel diseases

  • Small bowel cancer (adenocarcinoma)
  • Neuroendocrine tumors (NET) of the small bowel
  • Small bowel GIST
  • Benign small bowel tumors
  • Small bowel polyps
  • Meckel's diverticulum

  • Splenomegaly

When should you see a surgeon?

A consultation is recommended if:

  • you have been diagnosed with a condition that may require surgical treatment
  • you have recurrent or persistent abdominal pain
  • ultrasound, CT, or MRI has shown abnormal changes in the abdominal organs
  • conservative treatment is not producing the expected result
  • the indications for surgery need to be determined
  • you need a second opinion on the proposed treatment

How do we treat?

Treatment begins with a comprehensive examination and assessment of each clinical case.

We choose the most effective and at the same time least traumatic treatment method. Whenever possible, preference is given to laparoscopic operations, which provide faster recovery, less postoperative pain, and a shorter hospital stay.

At MSI we perform:
